That has not been a common practice and I think there’s a lot of knowledge and skill that needs to be built in this area. My wondering: did I understand correctly that the pilot used somewhat random texts instead of aligning with the core text students were studying in class? I know the pilot was looking for breadth, but you can definitely still achieve that with supplemental texts. This was an important topic, thanks for posting on it!

I cannot imagine them being one day, but I wanted to clarify since this routine seems to support our learners in multiple ways.

Yes, they took 10 texts from the curriculum, but it didn’t seem like a knowledge-building unit. The rest were random.
